Cut, dried lemongrass (Cymbopogon citratus) with a bright, fresh character and a clean citrus flavor with gentle grassy and ginger-like notes. A staple of Southeast Asian, Indian and Caribbean kitchens, lemongrass has been brewed as a refreshing everyday tea for generations.
Lemongrass is one of the friendliest herbs for blending. Its lemony lift brightens green tea, ginger, mint, hibiscus or chamomile. It’s just as good iced as it is hot, with a spoonful of honey or a squeeze of lemon.
Ingredients: Lemongrass (Cymbopogon citratus)
Hot brew: 1 teaspoon (or 1 tea bag) per 8 oz of water at 212°F. Cover and steep 5–7 minutes. Add honey or lemon to taste.
Ginger lemongrass: Steep 1 teaspoon of lemongrass with a thin slice of fresh ginger in 8 oz of boiling water for 7 minutes. Sweeten with honey, or chill and pour over ice.
Caffeine: None. Naturally caffeine-free.
⚠️ Consult your healthcare provider. Not for use during pregnancy. Use caution if breastfeeding or if you take medication, as lemongrass may affect how some medications are processed.
