Cut, dried red clover blossoms and leaves (Trifolium pratense) with a fresh, grassy character and a gentle floral flavor with a faint nectar sweetness. A member of the pea family native to Europe and Asia, red clover has been gathered from meadows and brewed as a nourishing tea for centuries.
Red clover is one of the mildest, most approachable herbal teas, naturally sweet enough to enjoy without honey. It’s lovely on its own or blended with nettle, peppermint, chamomile or lemon balm, and it’s beautiful iced.
Ingredients: Red clover (Trifolium pratense)
Hot brew: 1–3 teaspoons (or 1 tea bag) per 8 oz of water at 212°F. Cover and steep 10–15 minutes. Add honey if desired.
Meadow blend: Steep 1 teaspoon of red clover with ½ teaspoon each of nettle and peppermint in 8 oz of boiling water for 10 minutes.
Caffeine: None. Naturally caffeine-free.
⚠️ Consult your healthcare provider. Not for use during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or by children. Avoid if you have a hormone-sensitive condition (such as breast cancer, endometriosis or uterine fibroids) or a bleeding disorder. Use caution if you take blood-thinning medication or hormone therapy. Stop use 2 weeks before surgery.
